OPPO, Huawei, Honor, OnePlus, & Realme extends product warranties due to Coronavirus lockdown
Smartphone brands have stepped up to provide relief to there customers whose Warranty period ends during the 21-day India lockdown. Major smartphone brands including Huawei, OPPO, Realme, and OnePlus have all extended warranties for their smartphones and other devices.
First to announce the extension was Veer Berry, product marketing and communications head, Huawei India. The Telecom equipment manufacturer has extended warranty on smartphones, smartwatches, headsets, chargers, etc. to 30th June’2020, for all those whose warranty expires till June 21, 2020.

OPPO India has also shared a statement with Smartprix stating its commitment to provide relief to its customers by extending warranty on smartphones and accessories amid the COVID-19 pandemic. Oppo is also extending its add-on services including one-time screen replacement and complete damage protection till further notice.

“Oppo customers can avail the offer warranty extension for products purchased from authorized offline and online platforms whose validity expires post-March 23, 2020, till further notice,” the company said.
Realme India has joined the fray and extended warranty till May 31 and the phone replacement period by 30 days for customers due to lockdown.
In a statement, the company said, “Due to the ongoing situation prevailing in the country, Realme India has taken a significant step to support all its customers during this tough period. We have decided to extend the warranty on devices till May 31st, whose warranty was to expire between March 20th and April 30th, 2020. The replacement period of devices has also been extended by 30 days for those customers, who have purchased or will purchase Realme devices from March 15th till April 30th, 2020.”

OnePlus notified about warranty extension for its smartphones, earphones, and other accessories, ending between March 1st and May 30th, to May 31st.
To meet some of the most urgent needs of our customers, we’ve come up extending everyone’s warranty to May 31 if yours expires between March 1st and May 30th all regions, effective immediately,” OnePlus posted on its fourm.

Honor India also made a similar announcement. Honor is extending the warranty of devices whose warranties expire between March 21 and June 21, till June 30, 2020. The warranty extension is applicable for all Honor phones, wearables, headsets and accessories.
“Keeping the well-being of its consumers, today announced that it is extending the warranty period till 30th June, 2020 for all HONOR phones, wearables, headsets and accessories whose warranties expire between 21st March and 21st June, 2020,” Honor said in a statement.
